It's a Wonderful Life, Jimmy Stewart, Movie. This is my favorite Christmas movie. The kids groan when I get it out.
In the Old South of the 1930s, when a gentle giant of a man is sentenced to death for the murder and rape of two little girls, the fact that he is black and the girls are white is inflammatory enough, but the situation is further complicated by his near muteness and gift for healing.
Like much of early black and white television, in this early episode of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood there's lots of freewheeling fun and a fascinating look at the early days of a very creative, playful and imaginative Fred Rogers.
