Canberra Airshow from beneath the port wing of the C-130 Hercules we'd just stepped out of. The line-up for the Qantas 737 featured was so long I didn't even bother with it. 24 March 2012.
Didn't get to go for a $50 joyride in this one (all proceeds donated to the Salvation Army), Canberra Air Show, Canberra Airport, ACT. 24 March 2012. But still, got a good look inside this QantasLink Dash-8 Q400.
A piece of little-known Top End history, and possible proof that Chinese sailors landed here centuries before their European counterparts. The stone statue of Shou Lao actually sits in Sydney's Powerhouse, a great case for repatriating it to the NT if ever there was one. The statue itself has been dated to either the 600s or 1300s AD but that doesn't necessarily mean it came from a ship's visit during either of those eras, as some historians have tried to explain.
Polite yet firm sign outside a cafe in Broome, WA, on our day off, 9 December 2010. Broome has that mix of northern Australian frontier town with a place trying desperately to be more sophisticated (not that it needs to try).
The one and only boys party at my place, Belconnen, ACT. April 2011 but I can't recall the exact date. L to R: Jonno (who later drunkenly broke one of my lounge chairs by sitting on it too hard), Ash and Rick.
Croc goes for the meat, Crocodylus Park, Berrimah, NT. 10 June 2012. I don't have any stills of a croc actually snapping at the meat because I preferred to record it on video to get the whole thing, and you can't post video clips to Pinterest as yet.
