Zeebrugge, Belgium, is a village on the coast of Belgium. It serves as both the international port of Bruges-Zeebrugge and a seafront resort with hotels, cafés, a marina and a beach. I could never forget its harbor because it was the place I departed from at the end of my bicycle journey through in 1979. I'd spent nearly nine months viewing the continent straddling a bike seat. A ferry would take me from Zeebrugge to London where I'd fly back to "normal" life in L.A.
