Crystal Palace, World's Fair, Industrial Revolution. Could very well have been among (if not the first) the earliest Mega-Malls.

Originally set up in Hyde Park in 1851 for the Great Exhibition, though later expanded and moved, the Crystal Palace was a transparent monster of a building, a huge greenhouse made up of square feet of glass supported by an iron framework.
