Tripartite Libation Pitcher .:. BCE 22th century ~ BCE 20th century - Probably for ceremonial use in a ritual ceremony involving the pouring of liquid as an offering. The vase consists of three globular bottles with flat bases from Shah Tepé, Iran. A very high tripartite handle from each of the rims joins the three bottles together. One of them has a tubular tapering spout. The clay is thin and highly polished imitating more expensive metal-ware. .:.
