I laid out my basic background materials, which is scraps of blue sari fabric, and a white paper doily I got from Artfriend. The doily area was where I wanted to do my journal and secret message, with the main area for the photos and title.

Then I pinned down the paper doily, and pinned the journal elements on to the doily directly. It's always good to focus on a particular areas first and complete it before moving on to the rest of the picture.

So I started by pinning down the scraps of sari fabric with white push pins - the idea was to pin all the elements down instead of having to glue anything. And this blue fabric is gorgeous! It was actually leftover from the sari blouse material that my sister's tailor returned to her and I kinda 'borrowed' it. I love the sea colour and its shimmer, plus the exquisite trim it came with that I pinned on the right hand side. Loving it!

Ok, so I still couldn't think of a good title, and I found that I didn't leave much space for one anyway. So I stuck down these green glitter letter stickers from the Momoyo Puffy Alphabet collecction I've had leftover, and hot-glued yet another pearl flower in the center to make the couple's initials, "K". And below that, I pinned down another poker card pocket with the card facing up so that we can see the 7 of hearts. I thought it symbolized love for seven lifetimes - so sweet!!

And this is the completed memory board! I love the fact that the sea-blue of the fabric still maintained it's vibrant hue and also how the little pops of colour infused in the elements all over still complemented the overall wedding look. This board looks quirky and fun and yet retains the elegance of the wedding theme that I was going for. Thanks to my sister Prasana Thiagaras for the sari fabric, and to my friend Sanjanaa Nagarajan for the Bobunny stickers.

For the top, I had to cheat a little and hot glue the pearl flowers on either side then stick down the b accent stickers which acted as a great header. The sticker is from BoBunny and the pearl flowers are leftover from a previous project that I made.

It started out like this. I was planning on making a scrapbook page, but I was worried about having to frame it and stressing about all the work I have to put in until I saw this baby at Popular. An idea popped in my head right then, and the rest they say is history!

Then I pinned down these two poker card pockets. The first pocket has pieces of beach related images with a secret love quote written at the back of them. The second pocket has a piece of old lace trim that I got a very long time ago from Artfriend in a discount package; it's supposed to represent the tradition of wedding lace that is passed down from generation to generation.

Right at the bottom, I have stuck down another BoBunny sticker that links the section nicely with the header. On the other side, I pinned down a beautiful brooch that I got from Artfriend; if you notice carefully, I pinned it down in the centre holes with the white push pins so it looks like there are pearls in the brooch. Neat huh?

To finish it all off, I pinned these pearl beads I got from Paper Market to create a 'chandelier' of pearls cascading down the board. I attached red faux jewels from Prima Flowers at the ends, with a jewelled crossbow pendent piece that I broke off from an old keychain I never used. My favourite and most tedious part of the project - LOVE!!
