Shanghai has no shortage of breathtaking (and bizarre) views. VUE, perched at the north end of the Bund, however, delivers a full panoramic of both the ridiculous skyscrapers of the Pudong side as well as the classical architecture of the Puxi side. It's a juxtaposition of modernity and history that is present all over Shanghai, but in my opinion there's no better place to take it in than here

Wo ai Shanghai!  What's not to love?  While there be sure and see the bund at night (You can go up to the bar in the Jin Mao for a drink and a good view), Yu Yuan (old town -- do your shopping off on the side streets) and get in line early for some Nan Xiang dumplings.  Also early in the morning you can catch lots of people doing Tai Chi (and more) on the bund.  If you get a chance you should get off the beaten path anywhere to see some authentic Shanghai.
