The building behind the steps on the left later became the site of a cinema (Palais de Danse) and then was subsequently used as a studio by Barbara Hepworth in the 1960's.
Delabole Quarry, worked since ancient times and once the deepest man-made hole in the world. What appears to be Delabole slate has been found within the remains of prehistoric buildings on Bodmin Moor.
