One example given in the book is when the actor John Derek plays a character from Poland that comes to America on a football scholarship. He is described as "slow-witted and a dupe".

Being a student in this day and age can be rough. Sometimes classwork and studying is the least of college kids worries, and they are more focused on survival. If a student has a scholarship, or wealthy parents, they do not likely hold such concerns. Sadly, most everyone else fits into the broke college student stereotype. It does not have to be this way.
