Remembering the Sinking of RMS Lusitania - History in the Headlines

The Titanic's flawed designed was not due to the steel or the rivets, but the expansion joint, which ended in a narrow point rather than a bulbous shape. This was proven to be noticed by the designers, although not spoken of, because later observations (made by divers at the wreck site) of sister-ship Britannic's expanision joint revealed that it was made with a bulbous end, like that of a thermometor or lightbulb.
