It was the weighty brainchild of Samuel Colt & Samuel Walker. Walker met with Colt in the 1840s to propose improvements to the Colt Paterson revolver...the result was the Colt Walker. Samuel Hamilton Walker (1817-1847) was a prominent Texas Ranger and served in several armed conflicts, including the American Indian Wars and the Mexican-American wars. Along with Samuel Colt, Walker was the inventor of the famous Walker Colt (or Colt Walker) revolver. He was killed during the Battle of Huamantla during the Mexican-American War. He was 30 years old.
