When African slaves arrived, they created bottle trees from dead trees or large limbs next to their quarters and adorned them with glass bottles scavenged from their master’s garage piles.  Blue bottles were coveted, because they repelled evil and trapped night spirits to be destroyed by the rising sun.  Many Milk of Magnesia bottles ended up on trees!

[Frijid Pink - The House Of The Rising Sun] Frijid Pink is a Detroit area blues rock band formed in 1967, best known for their version of "House of the Rising Sun," released in 1969.   The initial line-up of the band included drummer Richard Stevers, guitarist Gary Ray Thompson, bassist Tom Harris, lead singer Tom Beaudry (aka:Kelly Green), and later added Larry Zelanka as off-staff keyboardist.
