Graham Beck Shiraz Viognier blend 2009 from South Africa. I love this traditional Northern Rhone blend. You get the black fruit and spice from the Syrah plus a really cool hint of tropical flowers from the Viognier, a white grape. This wine showed lots of dark rich fruit like blueberry as well as black pepper with lovely perfume notes. Smooth enough to drink on it's own but big enough to pair with a steak.
Adventures in BC Wine ----April 2016 BC wine collectibles I was reminded of the diversity that can be found in wine production schedules this month, seeing full-bodied Merlot and Syrah emerging alongside the spring’s freshest whites and Rosé. While some days see me finding long-sought bottles in out of the way stores, or finally caving to my desires for the last batch of some rarity for which I have no room, every April collectible is a brand new release.
