Time for a paradigm shift in awareness of our own cause and effect on the environment. Most people are currently oblivious to the sum total of their seeming little actions in the context of the big picture.
-1- Childe Harold's Pilgrimage/Canto the Fourth/Lord Byron "There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society, where none intrudes, By the deep Sea, and music in its roar: I love not Man the less, but Nature more, From these our interviews, in which I steal From all I may be, or have been before, To mingle with the Universe, and feel What I can ne’er express, yet cannot all conceal..."
This picture is very interesting to me because it gives something that is bad a twist. The smokestacks are always letting out smoke, polluting the air around us, and yet the artist incorporated the trees as the smoke, even though trees help us. I think this was on purpose, and it gives the person looking at it a good thing to think about. This is very well designed.
