This card sort activity has students categorize 24 statements about different types of quadrilaterals ( Kites, Parallelograms, Trapezoids, Rectangles, Rhombi, and Squares ) as Always True, Sometimes True, and Never True.

My students love doing card sorts! This would be perfect to get my Geometry students really thinking about all the different Quadrilateral theorems. This card sort activity has students categorize 24 statements about different types of quadrilaterals ( Kites, Parallelograms, Trapezoids, Rectangles, Rhombi, and Squares ) as Always True, Sometimes True, and Never True.

Many of my students had a difficult time understanding that a square is a parallelogram but a parallelogram isn't a square, etc.    These cards have worked really well in helping them understand how shapes are categorized and how they can share attributes and properties.
