Saint Frumentius (Ge'ez ፍሬምናጦስ frēmnāṭōs) (died ca. 383) was the 1st Bishop of Aksum (or Axum). Credited with bringing Christianity to the Aksumite Kingdom (Modern day Ethiopia). Bishop, Confessor & Apostle to Ethiopia. Coptic Orthodox Church celebrates the feast of Frumentius on Dec 18, Eastern Orthodox on Nov 30 & Roman Catholic on Oct 27. St. Frumentius is venerated on Aug 1 in the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church. He is credited with the 1st Ge'ez translation of the New Testament. YBH
Ever since I heard about Timbuktu I've been interested and astounded. Timbuktu was an ancient civilization in Africa...said to be New York, Paris, Toyko and more all rolled into one. More interesting and disturbing is how I never learned about this magical place as a child. That is where this piece derived.
