This image is from Virna Lisi shaving. Esquire, March 1965 and is related to Chapter 2. Masculinity vs. Femininity, this was the cover of a magazine circa 1960s, when men and women's roles were very different. I imagine that this cover was controversial, as men thought women should raise children and stay at home.
This one comes from Esquire in May 1974. The esteemed Norman Mailer, reports on the brand new at the time youth trend that was graffiti. The amazing cover image is by Jean Paul Goude who later went on to date and create all the seminal Grace Jones artwork and imagery.
