Kindergarten teacher Nicole Lemstra of Willowgrove School is using a smartphone app to help connect the home to the classroom. Using an iPad, students capture a moment from their day and then upload it to their portfolio for their parents to view from a computer or smartphone at home. Lemstra said the app helps ensure her students' parents are kept in the loop, and it helps her track which families are engaged in their students learning and which ones may need support.
