Mexican Black Beans - Apparently you can have Mexican restaurant beans at home whenever you want, and it's not hard or time-consuming. Advice: Cook a couple strips of bacon and sub 2 tsp of the grease for the oil in this recipe. Then crumble the bacon and add it with the garlic. (I stole that from another recipe.) Life. Changed.
Brisket with Carrots and Onions from FoodNetwork.com I decided to work my way through all my Barefoot Contessa recipe books. I made this and it was yummy! I used 1/2 spicy tomato juice which added a lot more flavor and I cooked the brisket at 250 for a longer time. Next time, I might try searing the beef before putting in oven.
