Piaggi, who contributed to dozens of Italian fashion magazines including Vogue Italia, was a runway fixture, garnering attention for her collection of hats, brightly colored fur stoles, and boas and predilection for layering wild patterns. Piaggi had a large clothes collection, including 2865 dresses and 265 pairs of shoes, according to a 2006 exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
