The candle ceremony. A great way to start a wedding ceremony and involve family members. Mothers of the groom and bride light a candle each at the altar. After the bride and groom are married, they light a larger candle using the candles in which their mothers lit. The two smaller candles are extinguished leaving just one lit candle. This symbolises the two families coming together and becoming one.
Hire video cameras for your ushers/groomsmen! Ask them to record key moments such as the ceremony and speeches. Worry about editing the video footage later, but eventually you will have a lasting memory of your wedding day! Hiring cameras is much cheaper than a videographer and you get to edit the video how you want, not how someone else wants!
'Our Story'. Everyone always asks that question of when did you meet or how long have you known each other for. Using a chalk pen and a sanded-down small pallet you can explain your life story and not have to repeat it to everyone! A good momento to keep after too. I'm hanging mine on the wall!
