PAINTED CEILING - Albert Eckhout's 17th century birds from Brasil, painted on the ceiling of the mainhall in "Hoflössnitz" castle (Radebeul - East Germany). Untill the mid 1970's tourguides told visitors these were fantasy creatures from fairy tales. Today they are treasured as some of the first examples of Natural History illustrations from Brasil - South America.
