On September 21, 2015, Ramapo College of New Jersey marked the beginning of clinical experience for 74 nursing students with The Adler Gold White Coat Ceremony. The ceremony centers on the humanism that is the heart of health care. It ends with a Pledge where all students pledge to uphold the integrity and humanism of the profession.
Joe Nitti '14 presented "Exploring semi-direct products" at the Garden State Undergraduate Mathematics Conference held at Rowan University. The conference also has an undergraduate math competition, which several Ramapo College first-years and juniors competed in.
Students in the School of Theoretical and Applied Science have opportunities to conduct research with faculty mentors in every discipline represented in the School for the Students Research Symposium (SRS).
Aleksandar "Alex" Goranov, President of the American Chemical Society Student Chapter (Ramapo's Chemistry and Biochemistry Club) and Professor Sarah Carberry researched how they could include more green chemistry events through the club. They found that students are interested in seeing more of these kinds of events. Their research "Greening a Student Chapter" was presented as a poster at the American Chemical Society Meeting and Exposition in Boston, MA in Aug 2015.
