Fordite, or "Detroit Agate" is actually a man-made "stone". They're actually made entirely of car paint runoff that collected in the river that flowed through the General Motors plant in Detroit. VERY rare and very pricey in spite of it's origin.

Fordite (Detroit Agate) These Gorgeous Stones Were Created During The Car Painting Process Decades Ago In Detroit.

Fordite Agate - Fordite, also known as Detroit agate, is old automobile paint which has hardened sufficiently to be cut and polished. It was formed from the build up of layers of enamel paint slag on tracks and skids on which cars were hand spray-painted (a now automated process), which have been baked numerous times. In recent times the material has been recycled as eco-friendly jewelry.

This is not agate! This is a piece of accumulated, layered dried paint from the automobile industry in Detroit, Michigan called Fordite.
