Jaguar XJR-9 Surely the car that in 1988 delivered the Big Cat its first Le Mans win for over 30 years qualifies for this list? The seven-litre, V12-powered, Silk Cut-branded, Tom Walkinshaw-run Group C car fought tooth and nail with arch rival Porsche during the 24 Hours and came out on top. A classic Le Mans won by an iconic machine.

Jaguar XJR-6  It was Group 44's XJR-5 that took Jaguar back to Le Mans, but the XJR-6 was the first Group C Big Cat from Tom Walkinshaw Racing, which would go on to win the race twice. All three XJR-6s retired in 1986, but put up a decent performance against the Porsches.
