‘Draco alter ex Raia exsiccate concinnatus’. Dieser von Ulisse Aldrovandi beschriebene Drache sieht einem Rochen sehr ähnlich, weshalb schon Aldrovandi selbst den Verdacht hegte, sein ausgestopftes Exemplar sei eine aus einem toten Rochen gebastelte Fälschung. Solche Fälschungen wurden oft als Basilisken verkauft, weil echte Basilisken selten sind. Es ist nicht viel über den Draco alter ex raia exsiccata concinnatus bekannt, jedoch wurden im selben Kapitel der "Historia monstrorum"
