Ministry of Silly Walks by Roeselien Raimond, via 500px - "The Eurasian Bittern (Botaurus stellaris) is known to be a very elusive and rare bird. And he’s a true Master of Camouflage. When he smells danger he plays his ‘I’m just a part of an innocent reed bed game.' He even waves with the sheer to be more convincing. An Oscar-worthy performance, since…he’s seldomly seen." This is a walk that John Cleese would be proud of in his Python days. But let's not tell the bittern that!

Male vermilion cardinals like this one photographed at @aviarionacional are the most radiant of all three cardinal species. Along with their brilliant red plumage, they sport a tall crown of feathers on the tops of their heads. This species of cardinal is found along the Caribbean coasts of Venezuela and Colombia and can usually be seen singing from their perches early in the morning. By Joel Sartore / #PhotoArk

American Bald Eagle by @FransLanting - When I first photographed bald eagles, I learned firsthand how sharp their eyesight is. No matter what you do, you can’t hide from them. In this photograph I tried to highlight that stare that seems to go right through me. In the United States, the bald eagle is a symbol of freedom, and was chosen as an emblem of the USA back in 1782.
