The brilliant Peter Butterworth (1919-1979), English comedy actor and comedian, who was also a regular on children's radio and television. He appeared in 16 'Carry On' films, and was the sixth most prolific performer in the series. His 'Carry On' debut was in the 1965 film 'Carry On Cowboy', followed by 'Carry On Screaming' in 1966, 'Don't Lose Your Head' in 1966, and 'Follow That Camel' in 1967. His last 'Carry On' film, before his death, was 'Carry On Emmannuelle' in 1978.

Peter Butterworth was one of the most under-rated actors in the Carry On team. He was just as good at scene stealing as Charles Hawtrey!
