BC 150 on the Road: Eagles Making a Difference. In 2013, a record number of Eagles in seven cities have paid tribute to BC's 150th through service projects. This initiative has proven to be the largest alumni service project in the University's history. The results? BC has packed an incredible 451,077 meals for hungry families in Burkina Faso. "Everyone who can stand, stand now. If you can help others, do so." -- Welles Crowther, killed at the age of 24 after repeatedly running back into the Twin Towers to rescue people. He died when the tower he was in collapsed.
Welles Crowther. Boston College grad. A hero of 9/11, he was at his desk working at Sandler O'Neill in the south tower when the plane hit. He was making his way down when he found a group of injured people waiting to take an elevator. He led them to safety via the stairs and then went back upstairs to save even more people.
