Argentina - Gaucho  The gaucho is a farmer-rider type characteristic of the plains and adjacent areas of Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, southern Brazil. It is identified by its status as skilled horseman and his link with the proliferation of cattle in the region and the economic and cultural activities arising from it, especially meat consumption and the use of leather.  Appeared in the course of the eighteenth century to the mid-nineteenth century was a semi-nomadic.
