Belle Isle Stables.  Belle Isle Park was one of the crown jewels of Detroit.  Lying in the waters between Detroit and Windsor, it had been a source of entertainment and relaxation for generations of Detroiters.  Horseback riding was one of those activities and an attempt to revive the activity occurred in the eighties when the Belle Isle stables were revived.  However, the enterprise failed and the stables were abandoned and soon ravaged by nature.

ABANDONED INSTITUTIONAL ARCHITECTURE - St. Agnes Church Detroit - Abandoned in 2006 due to financial troubles, Detroit’s St. Agnes church remained in fairly good condition for three years, though it had been stripped to its bare bones. Even once all of the organ pipes, chandeliers and stained glass windows were gone, the church displayed much of its old grandeur.
