The Vietnam Veterans Memorial is a national memorial in Washington, D.C. It honors U.S. service members of the U.S. armed forces who fought in the Vietnam War, service members who died in service in Vietnam/South East Asia, and those service members who were unaccounted for (Missing In Action) during the War. The simplicity of this memorial is the key to its beauty. It almost takes your breath away.
The Vietnam War Memorial by Maya Lin, it does not have a striking height, so that people can touch all the names engraved on the stone, to have a sense of connection to the people passed away, sharing the common feeling of lost with everyone who touch this stone 'scar' into the ground.
