Repurposed Folding Ruler Christmas Trees - MySalvagedTreasures.com "Repurposed Folding Rulers, December 2011. My stash of folding rulers was the inspiration for this Christmas tree. I glued the ruler pieces to an old cabinet door and didn't even bother removing the hinges or knob. I used a vintage rhinestone button as a tree topper, then added a little greenery with some tiny ornaments and a rhinestone brooch to the cabinet knob. This one hangs in my dining room every Christmas!"
This was an old pine 2 drawer timber filing cabinet. I covered the flat surfaces with paintable, textured wallpaper. I then painted it, gave it some Queen Anne legs and then put tiles on to make it look like faux tiny drawers. I then added timber edging and brass knobs.
Replace the handles or knobs on your kitchen cabinets or drawers with silverplate flatware pulls. Use a rubber mallet to flatten the head of a spoon or fork, bend the handle to make a loop, drill tiny holes for screws and attach to cabinets and drawers. Leave blank or use metal stamps to label the handles.
