We took a walk on Canyon Road on Christmas Eve to take in the traditional event of placing thousands of candles in paper bags, all along every roof-top and window ledge, along walls, and up steps. Bonfires are lit usually in the middle of intersections, so people can warm up, since the road is completely closed to cars. This is a unique event which takes place in Santa Fe, New Mexico each year, and is truly magical to experience! Some of the galleries serve hot tea or hot chocolate to warm…

The burning of the Zozobra takes place once a year in Santa Fe, New Mexico. It is usually held the Friday before Labor Day at the beginning of Fiestas de Santa Fe, where "Old Man Gloom" is said to remove your worries via his burning in a large bonfire. During the show, dances will perform, loud music is played, and Zozobra, Old Man Gloom, moves his head and arms, and emanates loud groans for us all, as he takes away our worries and troubles for another year!

High up in the Aspen Groves above Santa Fe, New Mexico, people have written messages on the trees for future generations. While I never would advise anyone to injure a tree this way, I feel that their suffering needs to be converted to joy and beauty. This would make a dynamic wall print, or a non-traditional Valentine's Day or Christmas card. #kulish, #tamara, #carving, #tree, #aspen, #woods, #FAA, #fineartamerica, #reproduction, #print, #framing
