His Excellency, General George Washington & the Marquis de Lafayette at Valley Forge. Valley Forge in Pennsylvania was the site of the military camp of the American Continental Army over the winter of 1777–1778 during the American Revolutionary War.
Anna Smith Strong (1740-1812) was an American patriot and member of the Culper Spy Ring during the American Revolution. She communicated messages through laundry. Certain clothes hung on her clothesline sent warnings and messages to the patriots.
