This week I did not feel like making anything in my art journal. I pushed through and made a few very average pages. After catching up on all those weeks of Project Life, maybe I was just exhausted. I also became very much into Project Life and my love went right back to that project. Apparently I don’t have enough love for both? T also just got home after a month and a half overseas, so maybe it was that? I wasn’t staying up as late anymore. I was tired. I didn’t want to spend time away…

Diane Salter - A New Step-by-Step Tutorial for 2015 including the use of Gelli painted papers! Next, for my background-- I got out my inktense blocks--these are great--a very intense watercolor stick, but I used gesso (any gesso, it doesn't matter) instead of water--I like the effect that you get when you use the gesso. Also a little acrylic ink here and there--this was the first layer.

Popped Bubble Art: I've done this activity with my kids a few times now and it never fails to fascinate them - and me! Simply color bubble mix with food coloring and blow bubbles onto paper - as the bubbles land and pop, they create beautiful works of art. It goes without saying that this project is best done outdoors. A great one for those lazy summer afternoons.
