STELLAR'S JAY (Cyanocitta stelleri) - found in  evergreen forests in the mountainous American West. Graceful and almost lazy in flight, they fly with long swoops on their broad, rounded wings. They are omnivores, and their diets are about 2/3 vegetable-matter and 1/3 animal-matter. Their diet consists of seeds, nuts, berries, and fruits, bird eggs and nestlings, invertebrates, suet, small rodents, reptiles, and carrion. They appear to be major predators of other species' eggs.

Each year I have a pair of Bluebirds nesting in my bird house.I love watching them , and when their chicks fledge it s awesome to see how the parents nurture them until the fly away to start their own journey in the world.
