Poem by Kate Makkai. A question nearly every woman, every little girl has - will I be pretty? I'm not opposed to pretty. I love makeup. I love clothing, and HUGELY GAUDY vintage earrings. But there is much more to me than my appearance, and I don't need to look "flawless". I'm flawed. It's cool. I don't need products to "fix" my complexion. It's fine. I don't need my lips plumped, or my lines erased. My appearance is in no way indicative of my worth. ~Ricrac ♥
Quote from Winters Tale, very moving and accurate to my life right now. Lost love can go beyond romantic love, it also captures those of loved friends and family who have passed. This reminds me of both. And the pain is real in every sense. We must stay strong and think of the wonders that destiny has in store, and we must chase will all the veracity that we hold.
No life is more important than another. And nothing has been without purpose. Nothing. What if we are all part of a great pattern that we may someday understand? And one day, when we have done what we alone are capable of doing, we get to rise up and reunite with those we have loved the most, forever embraced. What if we get to become... stars. ---- Winter's tale.
This was one of the most beautiful poems ever. To hear Shane Koyczan recite it in his video was so heart-wrenching and powerful. "And if you can't see something beautiful about yourself, get a better mirror. Look a little closer. Stare a little longer. Because there's something inside you that made you keep trying despite everyone who told you to quit."
