I didn’t know, did you know®…  Today in women’s history, women’s rights advocate and social reformer Lucretia Coffin Mott was born in 1793.   Along with Elizabeth Cady Stanton, she initiated the Seneca Falls Women’s Rights Convention. Also a staunch abolitionist, Mott and her husband refused to use any slavery-produced goods and opened their home to runaway slaves. Happy 220th birthday Lucretia!

Clan Montgomery - Roger de Montgomery arrived in England with his kinsman, William the Conqueror, in 1066. In 1069 Roger was granted lands on the Welsh border in the County which later took his name, Montgomeryshire. In 1083 he built Shrewsbury Abbey where he is entombed. According to the Doomsday Book, in 1086 he owned 150 castles and lordships within ten counties of England.
