FALL FLOWERS: Throughout the Hill Country Frostweed is beginning to bloom. Another member of the composite family, Frostweed is an important nectar source for migrating Monarch Butterflies. It gets its name due to what happens to it during a freezing night in the winter. When below freezing, the base of the stems of these plants explode, forming a beautiful, delicate frost that lasts only until it warms up enough to melt away.
