The day after Thanksgiving I was so beyond ready to go get a Christmas tree. My family has a picturesque amount of snow up in Rochester right now, and while we were looking for our tree I was receiving picture messages from them, surrounded by a foot of snow and their chosen Douglas Fir. As Robert and I were traipsing around the grey and green tree field, I was pretty jealous of their winter wonderland. I didn't realize the cut-your-own experience was a little different down here. Last year this time we needed a tree ridiculously early for a photoshoot, so naturally Robert wandered out into a tree field he saw while driving, flagged down a guy in a truck and convinced him to cut one down for us. We had to do some searching to find one relatively close to us where you could cut your own, but we finally landed at Indian Acres and I found a little Norway Spruce that stole my heart. Later of course, we read about that type of tree online, with the big warning that says "should not be purchased any sooner than one week before Christmas". Ha. Whoops. We just looked at each other and shrugged. We could very well have a naked tree by the time Christmas rolls around, but at least it's beautiful now. I also had to include my absolute favorite Christmas song to top this all off. If you're in need of some more holiday tunes you can still download the Winter Mix we made last year, I'm not sure I'll have time to post one this time around. Happy Tree Hunting!
