🍂The Storied Life🍂 We live and love with no premonition of the future that is yet to unfold for each of us. The story materializes day by day and all that we do or don't do matters greatly. What is left when we are without words? Maybe we can hear silence. It can happen. Silence I mean. Because I am a story teller I depend upon words to express what Is in my mind. But images and symbols also carry language. The language of history and the ancient form of silent storytelling. These are things I am thinking about as I sit in my studio and try to decide what to create. This image is what I found myself sketching while pondering my direction. I was inspired by artist ShinKwangHo.
Just getting started on a tall girl portrait ☺️ I moved her easel so she was in front of the full-length mirror. Then I could use my own arm and hand as a reference for placement and proportion. While in New Mexico Ivy and I were living and breathing art each and every day for 8 straight days. We couldn't get enough of the topic. We created and talked about art into the wee hours of the night and woke up early doing the exact same thing. We wore ourselves out for 3 solid days tramping around to all the amazing galleries on Canyon Road talking to gallery owners and artists learning and absorbing the beauty and information as much as possible.
