Costume Jewelry Cake - Cake for my mother-in-law's birthday. It's a fake cake (cake dummies) because she doesn't eat sweets. Brooch is real; she collects costume jewelry, and I made the bow such that the brooch can be removed. All decorated in colored fondant - I tried to match the brown, amber and gold colors in the brooch.
Miriam & Zachary's Casablanca-inspired Old Hollywood wedding
Purple, blue, and teal edible confetti dots spill out of a champagne glass topper down this otherwise simple white wedding cake. Such a fun idea! Maybe for a New Year's Eve wedding…? Love that they sprinkled more of the “confetti” onto the display table for continuity. And I dig that muted coordinating watercolored paisley-looking vintage scarf over the (again) plain white tablecloth as well.
Yes! These lovely wedding cakes have just made my day. It’s such a great feeling to come across beauty so unexpectedly, especially when it involves perfectly crafted cake masterpieces made with brilliant floral confections and genius use of color.
