Each character appears to have slightly different VFX for their attack impacts. Bumblebee's attack VFX seems more simple to achieve than Optimus'. When you slow down the animation you can see there are very few frames of different shaped blasts. It is less of an animation than a few images appearing quickly. This appears very achievable and super effective.
