Flag of East india Company On 31 December 1600, England's Queen Elizabeth I(1533 - 1558 - 1603 (70)) signed the Royal Charter which created the British East India Company. Originally a monopoly joint stock trading company, it grew to being the administrator of the whole of India until, in the wake of the rebellion of 1857, India was made a Crown Colony and the assets of the Company were taken over by the British Government.

Orange River Colony (South Africa) 1904 - 1910 Following in the British colonial pattern, a flag for the Orange River Colony was approved following the Grant of Arms to the Colony on 10 December 1904. These were blazoned in the Royal Warrant as: "Argent on a Mound a Springbuck and on a Chief Azure the Imperial Crown all proper"
7. Honduras was under the colonial rule of Spain. It all began in 1502 when Christopher Columbus claimed the land of Honduras. They conquered the land until 1838 when Honduras gained independence from Spain. The cause of this was that Napoleon conquered Spain and overthrew the king of Spain. This led to many outbreaks of revolt in Central America. With this news, Honduras joined the other Central American countries in a joint declaration of independence from Spain.
