Addlebrough from Askrigg, Wensleydale, Yorkshire Dales, England

Thirn, Wensleydale. Here in the lower reaches of Wensleydale the Pennine peaks have been left behind, but still dominate the western horizon, and the river Ure begins its slow and twisting journey southward into the Vale of York. Countryside rich with rolling farmland, verdant, tree lined meadows, glorious cornfields and deciduous woods, stately houses and formal parkland. A softer landscape than the dales, running along the edge of the vale from Richmond in the north to Ripon in the south.
