Jaguarundi, weighing only about 11 pounds is listed as endangered in the U.S. since 1976, habitat loss is widely recognized as it's most serious threat. It's historic range stretched from southeastern Arizona and southern Texas, through Mexico, to portions of South America.
The jaguarundi (Puma yagouaroundi syn. Herpailurus yagouaroundi) is a small-sized wild cat native to Central and South America.
