London, Malplaquet House is a 20-room historic mansion built in 1740 for a wealthy merchant. They spent the next five years painstakingly restoring Malplaquet House to it’s former glory. Then they filled the house with their vast collections of art, artifacts and natural history specimens.

To gain entry to this hip underground bar, tell the host at the Breakfast Club in Spitalfields that you’re there to see the mayor. You’ll walk through a fridge and emerge in a dimly lit basement bar with exposed brick, vintage light fixtures, and a taxidermy deer wearing a Hawaiian lei. 12–16 Artillery Lane; themayorofscaredycattown.com
