Too gothic? Perhaps. Two authors? Not usually my favorite. Is it a vampire? That's been done, and done and done. But stil! This looks tempting (perhaps it was the reviewer's comparison to chocolate...) and I could very well enjoy it. I did love Shadow of the Wind, and that was quite gothic. (though Spanish, not Oregonian - who knew there was a Northwest gothic...and NO Twilight does not count.)
