Focal Points - The Bread Board Here I notice the big bread board over the stove first, then the beams, the cabinets, the chairs, the island, the lighting, and then the armoire in the background. You could argue that the flowers on the island make up the focal point, but they are not what I notice first. I think normally your eye goes to the back wall first. I like that the bread board draws the eye up to the beams and to the nice detail on the vent hood.
